JKNPP to raise Railway recruitment issue in autumn session | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 20 : The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly beginning on last week of August is expected to witness uproar by Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) is set to grill the Omar Abdullah government on appointment of Kashmiri youths against railway vacancies in Jammu region. Talking to media persons Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today said that the issue of recruitment of Kashmiri youths against railway vacancies in Jammu region will be raised in the Autumn session of assembly session . Mankotia said Panthers Party has been protesting against appointment of "Kashmiri youth" on Katra-Udhampur Railway track for last over twenty days but the Government has failed to take cognizance of the serious matter which pertains to future of Jammu youth and railway department has also maintained criminal silence over it . He added that for this cause, party MLA’s will fight within assembly and simultaneously party workers will start a rail track agitation and panchayat -level demonstrations along the track from Lakhanpur-Samba-Udhampur-Jammu-Reasi upto Ramban-Banihal till the railway withdraws Kashmiri youths and posts local unemployed there. Mankotia alleged that the Omar Abdullah- led state government was biased towards Jammu and that even ministers based in the region were not raising their voice to end such regional discrimination. He added that party will also raise issue of delimitation in assembly session to end discrimination with Jammu region. Maintaining that the state's existing electoral map did not do justice to the aspirations of the people of the Jammu region, which was larger than the Valley both in terms of population and area but still contributed fewer seats to the assembly and the LokSabha, strong case for undertaking a fresh delimitation exercise in the state. The movement will give Jammu region its due share in power structure in the state and get it rid of political domination of Kashmir valley," he said. |
