Main accused of 'Bagh-e-Bahu stabbing case' Kallu arrested | | | Jammu, Aug 20: In a major breakthrough in Gorkahnagar assault case, police claimed to have arrested main accused of Bagh-e-Bahu stabbing case from Amritsar. With this arrest the accused held in the said assault case has swelled to six including a woman while two accused involved in Bishnah stabbing case were also arrested by the police. According to police sources, on specific input a police party led by Inspector Sunil Sharma under the supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand raided a hotel at Amritsar and arrested three persons who have been identified as Rohan Thaapa alias Kallu of Bagh-e-Bahu, Raghuveer Singh alias Dana of Chorli Bishnah and Shivankar of Calcutta. Pertinently, on August 11, a criminal while was having a leisure time alongwith his two associates in a house at Gorkha Nagar of Bagh-e-Bahu locality area was assaulted by a group of five persons. One of the accused identified as Mantoo still is evading his arrest. According to police sources, all the persons involved in the incident are having criminal cases registered with different police stations. Police has termed the today's 'catch' as major development in the assault case. Meanwhile, Police said that during questioning, Dana and Shivankar confessed their involvement in stabbing in Bishnah area wherein a shopkeeper was stabbed on Aug 13. Police said that a local gang of Bishnah hired Shivankar hailing from Kolkata for stabbing their rival in a bid to create panic and to make their terror in the area. Police sources further said that both the gangs used to take help of each other in different incidents while further investigation and questioning of the arrested is going on. |
