Srinagar, Aug 20: Two militants were killed in an ongoing encounter at Keran sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday evening.
A senior army official told that army's 7 Gadhwal cordoned off the forest area near the RohtooGali in the sector.
As the combing operation was intensified, the militants hiding in the area opened fire upon the army, he said, adding that the fire was retaliated ensuing a gun battle.
"During the encounter two militants have been killed and the bodies along with two AK-47 rifles were recovered from the spot", he said, adding that the searches in the area is still going on. |
