HC withholds appointments of Teachers in Kishtwar District 8/21/2014 11:36:28 PM Jammu, Aug 21: In a petition filed by Suman Devi and Ors seeking quashment of Selection list of General Line Teachers of Kishtwar District, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Adv ND Qazi appearing for the petitioner issued notice to Commissioner/secretary Education Dept, Chairman and Secretary Service Selection Board, Director school Education Jammu and CEO Kishtwar. Adv KM Bhatti accepted notices on behalf of Service Selection Board, Justice BL Bhat directed to file objection on or before September 1, 2014 and in the meanwhile objections from other side, Justice BL Bhat ordered that till next date before the Bench, appointments shall not be made on the basis of impugned selection list. In the petition, petitioner submitted that the selection list issued by the respondent were found in total violation of notification issued by them on the ground that the main condition which was laid down in the advertisement notifications that a candidate who possess higher qualification shall be preferred for the appointment as teacher and the petitioner were shocked to see the candidates selected in the select list were simple graduates who were having less merit than the petitioner and some of the candidates were got selected in such a manner that their names were not figuring in the short list, therefore the selection list issued by the respondent is in violation of condition prescribed in the notification issued.
