Early Times Report

Samba, Aug 21: Addressing a series of public meeting in the border areas of Vijaypur assembly constituency, BJP State President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that he is fully aware of the plight of the people and will take up their issues at right quarters so that their grievances are redressed.
He expressed thanks to the people for their support to the BJP in the Lok Sabha election and said the BJP will not let them down and see to it that their social, economic and political life is regenerated.
Accompanied by Chander Parkash Ganga, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma said is unfortunate that the state government is giving a paltry sum of Rs.200 as pension to the unfortunate widows and urge the government to enhance the amount to Rs. 1000 so that they could meet some of their needs. Interacting with the flood affected people, he said that they have suffered immense losses and he would urged the government to give them compensation at the rate of Rs. 1000 per kanal to each individual who suffered loss due to recent floods.
The BJP MP expressed shock and dismay over the manner in which the NC-Congress government has neglected the border areas with bulk of it having no electricity, no drinking water, no health care facilities and no road connectivity. He contested the claim of the ruling coalition that it has done much during the past more than five years to improve the life of the people by spending money on infrastructure.
He also said that one of the causes responsible for the defeat of the coalition candidate in Jammu province, Kashmir and Ladakh was its utter failure to measure up to the genuine expectations of the people and the Congress-NC would also suffer another defeat in the upcoming assembly elections and give BJP the mandate to serve the people of the state for the next six years. Sharma cautioned the people of Jammu region against the Congress which on Wednesday talked of Hindu Chief Minister from Jammu and said the Congress had ditched the people of Jammu province twice in 2002 and 2008 by holding out a promise that the vote for the Congress would be a vote for Chief Minister from Jammu and end of discrimination against them.
He said the Congress let down the people of Jammu province by not fulfilling any of the poll promises it had made in 2002 and 2008 to seek people's mandate. He appealed to the people to make common cause with the BJP which beliefs in the principles of justice and equity and whose only mantras is "sab ka saath, sab ka vikas".
Chander Prakash Ganga, Keshav Dutt Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Subash Verma, Som Verma, Amit Dubey, Ch. Kartar Chand, Babla, Jaspreet Singh, Sarpanch Manjeet Singh and others were present in these meetings.
