Trainees in SKPA Udhampur go on hunger strike | Bid to communalize SKPA? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 21: Forcing the SKPA , Udhampur to face embarrassment, about scores of the cadets who are undergoing training in the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur went on hunger strike on Thursday lamenting that they were not given priviledge for leave. The trainee went on strike to press their demands of letting them go on leave which the management SKPA did not allow. As per reports, the incident took place when the management let the Hindu trainees to go on leave keeping in view of the festivals. The trainee of the other community on coming to know that their counterparts were allowed to go also demanded to let them go on leave as they also deserved the same privileges. The matter was being sorted out till late hours. Meanwhile, a senior police officer in the academy said that the trainees were allowed to go on leave occasionally keeping in view of the festivals .Earlier also, some trainees of Ladakh were let to go few days ago keeping in view of the arrival of the Dalai Lama. “ The things are taking otherwise, as all are accommodated on humanitarian ground”, officer said, adding, “ Efforts were on to pacify the issue.” |
