| MLA Ashwani uses Morcha name for pursuing own interests: JSM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 21: In the backdrop of joining of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) by Bishnah MLA Ashwani Sharma, Jammu State Morcha (JSM) alleged that Ashwani had used Morcha name to pursue his own interests.
"Joining of Ashwani Sharma does not effect in any manner the functioning of JSM as he was not even base member of organization. He fought assembly election of 2008 as an independent candidate without the mandate of JSM, which had fielded its own candidate, Varinder Mohan Magotra. Ashwani was using the name of Morcha for his own interests. JSM is a registered organization with the Election Commission of India and is being lead by Prof. Virender Gupta as its president and the founder member of the organization", the press note said.
The press note further read as JSM shall field its candidates in the forthcoming assembly elections. "At present it is engaged in the process of preparing the list of the probable candidates who are involved in the social service, having a unblemished and clean image while commanding a good reputation in the society. In this effort it calls upon the common citizens who want to serve the people of Jammu region with dedication and commitment and want to work for the creation of a separate state for Jammu region to join JSM. It also calls upon those who possess the above qualifications and have a desire to stand as a candidate in the forthcoming assembly elections on behalf of JSM", the press note concluded.
