JKPP (Secular) condemns Hindu CM statement of Sham Lal | | | Jammu, Aug 21: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (Secular) has criticized Congress leader and Jammu and Kashmir Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister, Sham Lal Sharma for his Hindu CM statement. President of JKPP (S) Sushant Bakshi sought an explanation from Sham Lal Sharma whether his party and high command also endorse his view? While showing disappointment over the statement by senior Congress party leader, JKPP (S) president, Sushant Bakshi said "Our party is of the view that religion should not be the criteria for electing the chief minister of any state. It is a very responsible position whose job is to serve everyone irrespective of their religion so the right candidate with clear vision about development should be elected on merit basis and not religion basis. Similarly the chief minister of the state needs to treat everyone equally. Bakshi also condemned the divide and rule policy to gain vote bank. He said that as the assembly elections are approaching nearby hence just only to polarize votes on communal basis. |
