Jammu, Aug 21: Either it is a war of egos or the professional commitments but the students at Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura are at loser's end within the 'wordy-war' between Colleg Principal and an Assistant Professor appointed with English Department College dragged in the controversy An assistant professor with an alleged egoistic nature presently posted at Government Degree (GDC) Paloura has refused to teach students of Bachelors of Arts first year solely for the reason that she was not allotted all classes of undergraduate courses including first, second and last year. While the education system already is hit with the alleged absenteeism now it is unspecified anarchy/dictatorial approach of certain individuals working within department is likely to take toll of higher education? According to sources, Assistant Professor Pooja Sharma is not taking class of first year students and is adamant to only why not she has been allotted second and third year classes. The faculty member said controversy is reportedly too adamant and even has decided not to attend the designated assignments viz. teaching classes of junior batches. Surprisingly the phony battle between the Principal of College and the said faculty members could be seen in attendance register for first year BA showing the mark 'X'i.e. blank. However, students who have no fault have approached the head of the department and complaint her in writing that the said assistant professor is not taking classes from last many days. One of the students while talking to Early Times stated that the head of the department hear them patiently and started taking their extra classes. Principal of the Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura, Savitri Sharma when contacted by Early Times said "That matter came to my notice and I will try to solve it possibly by tomorrow." |
