State Govt disallows army recruitment drive at Kishtwar | BJP to seek DM's intervention | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Aug 23: Many unemployed youth arrived from different parts of Doda-Bhaderwah-Kishtwar returned disappointed after local administration in Kishtwar failed to reconsider its decision of granting permission to army for holding five day recruitment rally at Chowghan ground citing security reasons. While talking to "Early Times", several unemployed youth shows resentment over government decision. "I had lot of expectations from this recruitment rally. I cannot participate in it next year as I will cross the upper age limit," said Akshay Kumar Shan. Deepak Kumar from Bhaderwah said that government on one hand announced several initiatives for unemployed youth of the state including promise of advertising over 80000 posts, but on the other hand created hurdles in army recruitment by denying permission for the recruitment. He said that he was not aware about the cancellation of recruitment rally and traveled all the way from Bhaderwah to reach Kishtwar late in the evening. He said that due to shortage of money, he spends his night under open sky inside Chowghan ground and return back to home disappointed. He said that much hyped government policy Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Scheme under which state government promises stipend to unemployed youths also turned out to be a hoax. He said that district administration must revoke its decision of denying permission to proposed recruitment rally before army authorities called it off. Several unemployed youths like Akshay Kumar and Deepak showed disappointment over denial of permission to proposed army recruitment rally by the local administration. Meanwhile Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) unit Kishtwar also condemned the local administration for denying permission to army for holding recruitment rally in which over 450 unemployed youth of Doda-Bhaderwah-Kishtwar were expected to get jobs in the army. In this connection a deputation of BJP Kishtwar unit led by BJYM President Ashish Sharma and senior party leader Shashi Badyal also called on senior BJP leader and parties Chairman state election committee Dr. Nirmal Singh and apprised him about the decision of district administration with regard to denial of permission to proposed army recruitment rally. While talking to "Early Times" Dr. Nirmal Singh while condemning the decision of local administration said that Congress-NC coalition government is not only corrupt, but also anti-youth. He said that the coalition government earlier prepared the dubious recruitment policy and later revoked the same after facing rout. He said that denial of permission to army recruitment rally is another glaring example of anti unemployed attitude of Omar Abdullah government. He said that he will also take up the matter with Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and assured the youths of Chenab valley that BJP will fight tooth and nail for restoration of permission to army recruitment rally. When contacted senior army officials informed "Early Times" that army is still waiting for the permission from the government for holding recruitment rally and added that as of now there is a possibility of holding the same in next few days. Army said that any more delay on part of the local administration in granting the permission for recruitment rally will led to the permanent cancellation of the rally. |
