| Plantation drive launched | | |

Jammu, Aug 23: Students of Directorate of Distance Education, Jammu University today organized plantation drive in DDE Premises. The programmed commenced with ceremonial plantation by Prof.V D Singh Director of DDE University of Jammu, who was also the chief guest on the occasion. Students, Scholars of Jammu University showed great enthusiasm in the plantation drive by participating in great numbers. Prof.V D Singh Director of DDE University of Jammu advised them to adopt plant saplings in various groups to fulfill this responsibility. He said that forests and human beings are inter dependent for their survival and it was the prime duty of every individual to preserve the forests and plant more and more trees. He appealed to the students to actively work for forest conservation and to spread the message of environmental protection in the society. He impressed upon the youth to channelize their energy and act as agents of change in the face of prevailing environmental degradation. |
