Official put under suspension after denying shelter to fleeing residents | | | Early Times Plus
Jammu, Aug 23: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday placed a top government official under suspension after she denied shelter to residents fleeing border firing in RS Pura sector of Jammu. "The District administration, Jammu has placed Superintendent ITI RS Pura, Ruchika under suspension for not unlocking the college complex for providing shelter to residents of adjoining Border areas in view of continuous firing across the Border, pending further enquiry into the matter," an official spokesman said in a statement issued to here today. As per an order issued in this regard by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, SDM RS Pura had telephonically informed the Superintendent, ITI RS Pura to immediately unlock the building and provide the safe shelter to the people. "Whereas, the Superintendent ITI didn't comply with the order and indulged in non-compliance and as the District administration faced hardship to tackle the issue of providing safe shelter to the affected people due to negligent attitude/non-compliance by Superintendent ITI RS Pura, Ruchika Superintendent ITI RS Pura, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and attached with SDM RS Pura" the order reads. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner (G) Jammu Shehnaz Choudhary has been appointed as Inquiry Officer for conducting an in-depth enquiry into the matter. |
