Good Governance simplified in 90 days: Dr Jitendra | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Aug 27: Speaking on the occasion of completion of 90 days of Narendra Modi Government, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) said here today that the present Government took over on 26 May with a pledge to ensure "Good Governance" and it was a matter of satisfaction that the Department of Administrative Reforms under him had, during the last three months, not only taken major initiatives to ensure good governance but had also evolved mechanisms to make governance simple and therefore, in other words, it could be said that the past 90 days were days of "Good Governance Simplified". Elaborating on this, Dr Jitendra Singh said, one of the major decisions taken in these 90 days was to introduce a simplified single affidavit procedure wherein the process of giving an undertaking in the Government Departments was not only made less cumbersome but an option was also introduced to submit self-attested affidavits in order to make administrative procedures simple and short. While e-governance has been the major plank of the new Government and will also continue to be so in the months to come, Dr Jitendra Singh said, during the last three months, a number of workshops and interactive sessions were held where Secretaries and Directors from different States dealing with Administrative Reforms, Pensions and Grievances were brought together on a single platform in order to update their abilities for improved deliverance. While releasing a book on "Good Governance Initiatives" published by his Ministry, Dr Jitendra Singh said that in the present era of documentation, this book will serve as a written record for reference on good governance practices and the multi prong approach to accomplish them. Secretary Administrative Reforms, Ravi Shankar and Secretary Personnel, Sanjay Kothari were also present in the programme. |
