Attack on BSF: Police arrest 10 youth | 'They are notorious stone pelters' | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 27: Police have arrested more than 10 youth from Koil village in south Kashmir's Pulwama district in connection with the attack on the personnel of Border Security Force earlier this month.Sources told Early Times that police have a lodged an attempt to murder case against the arrested youth and they have been lodged in different police stations in Pulwama district. A police official said, "We have intensified the patrolling in the area after the August 16 attack on BSF vehicles in which two BSF men were killed." He claimed that all these arrested youth resorted to "massive stone-pelting" soon after the militant attack in the area. "These youth damaged vehicles of the security forces which had gone there to assess the situation after the attack," he, said adding that all the arrested youth are "notorious" stone-pelters. He said the arrested youth have been booked under FIR number 205/2014 under section 307 RPC. Sources identified the arrested youth as Tariq Bashir Sofi, Manzoor Qadir Kumar, Mudasir Nabi Bhat, Muzamil Shaban Bhat, Mukhtiyar Nazir Hajam, Imtiyaz Gafar Dar, Bashir Rehman Ganaie, Ashiq Khaliq Sofi, Bhaktiyar Abdullah Paul and Muhammad Suhail Bhat. Pertinently, in a series of attacks launched by militants this month in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, six people including five security force personnel and a civilian were killed while 13 security force personnel had sustained injuries . |
