Srinagar, Aug 27 : The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is secretly working on many fronts in Kashmir to enter in coalition with regional parties ahead of forthcoming assembly elections. Sources said BJP is sure to win at least 15 seats from Jammu and Ladakh. And keeping in view the performance of the regional parties in Kashmir, the BJP needs only five seats from the Valley to enter into coalition with other parties to form the government. Sources added that one particular high level team is working secretly on many fronts to make the dream come true'. "You may see new political parties appearing on Kashmir soil, many unknown faces getting ready to contest upcoming elections independently, little known regional political parties widening their structures and calling people of different walks of life to contest elections for them, all this is the handiwork of BJP to somehow change the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
An expected candidate of a newly launched political party revealed that he was recently introduced by his colleagues in Srinagar to a person who assured him all help to contest upcoming assembly elections from South Kashmir. "It is astonishing to know that a person who claims to be the head of the party said that he will not contest himself and does not want that common masses should know that he is heading the party, his son who is the general secretary also refused to contest elections and did not disclose his name.
This is something new happening in Kashmir politics this time,: he said. Sources said that besides these developments heads of two little known regional political parties of Kashmir these days are in constant touch with BJP leadership who have assured them all help to widen the structures to contest upcoming assembly elections on all the 87 seats of the state, announce their Chief Ministerial candidates and divert the vote bank which largely attracted towards People's democratic party (PDP), National Conference (NC) and state congress. "BJP is religiously working on changing the traditional political scenario of Kashmir, it is attracting migrant vote bank of Kashmiri Pandits of some particular constituencies of Kashmir falling in North, central and South Kashmir, it won't also mind to enter in coalition with any major political party of the state if it gets such a chance to get its say in the next state government."
