DB directs Oil Companies, State to file complete status report | Suo-Moto PIL regarding shortage of LPG | | Jammu, Aug 27 (JNF) : In the Suo Moto PIL regarding crises because of shortage of LPG gas due to cap announced by Central Govt, A Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan today after hearing Sr. Adv DC Raina with Adv RP Sharma appearing for the PIL, directed State and Oil Companies to file complete status report. When the PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench directed counsel appearing for the oil companies to provide latest status report apprising the Court as to to how many outlets have been operational till date under different schemes and that how much time more the oil companies will take in commissioning the remaining outlets. Division Bench further said that counsel for the Oil companies would also apprise the Court in the said report as to what required steps the companies are contemplating to meet the exigency of supply of LPG to its customers during Darbar Move and especially in winter season when, undoubtly there will be a huge addition of the consumers. Division Bench further directed Adv R Koul appearing for the Oil Companies to file a report to setps already taken by the companies for supply of LPG as winter stock for Srinagar/Leh/Ladakh/Kargil and filed a composite report in this regard within four weeks and also directed AAG Seema Shekhar to submit complete status report in terms of earlier order within the four weeks. |
