Jammu, Aug 28: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association staged a protest demonstration today in front of Press Club, against State government for not mitigating their genuine and just demands including clearing of their pending dues. During the protest held under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President VRS Union Jammu & Kashmir and Surinder Singh General Secretary, the speakers criticized the attitude of the J&K Govt for its wrong policies framed for the VRS/GHS employees and harassing the VRS/GHS employees for the last 4 years. Surinder Singh General criticized the Finance Department of J&K Govt; for not releasing our legitimate dues besides they have funds but not releasing and the reasons are beyond our power to understand and they are harassing the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC. Highlighting the demands the speakers said, "VRS/GHS employees are struggling and demonstrating for their dues and liability of 742 VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC amount of which is a whooping amount of Rs.30,16,10,673.00 and the same is being misused by the Finance Department. Besides this they highlighted the demands like leave salary, ex-gratia grant, gratuity and pending arrears, 126 slabs of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) w.e.f. 1999 and etc. Among others present on this Balwinder Singh, J D Singh, Gulshan Singh, B V Sharma, Surjit Singh, D N Sharma, Sain Mohd and others were present. |
