NIACL joins local banks in launching of PMJDY | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28: New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) today joined local banking sector in launching of Pradhan Mantri Jan Bhan Yojna for the state of Jammu and Kashmir here at Government College for Women, Jammu. According to press release, The Divisional Manager of the company, Dr. Daleep Pandita said that this beneficial personal accident insurance policy is valid all over India for 24 hours and cover common risks like snake bite, electric shocks, falling, drowning besides road accidents and losses due to other natural calamities. Post mortem examination is the main document needed for its claim settlement which is payable to the nominee. "Under this comprehensive financial inclusion scheme, every bank account holder is provided with a Rupay card under which the beneficiary will be insured for a sum of rupees on lac per year against all types of accidents", said Pandita. He further said that no medical examination or any income proof is required for taking this low premium insurance scheme and it should be a cherished endeavor for NIACL to percolate its benefits to the rural poor as early as possible. Vigorous publicity campaign in association with Bank Mitra for its mass awareness particularly in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir should be launched shortly by the company. |
