Man v/s wild: Bear mauls wild life employee, injures 17 others in Boniyar | | | Syed Tahir Bukhari
Baramulla, Aug 28: A wild bear reportedly has killed a Wild Life Employee and also has injured at least seventeen people in a remote village Banali in tehsil Boniyar of district Baramulla in North Kashmir on Thursday afternoon. According to sources that the bear was seen in the village at around 2:00 pm in the maize fields and attacked the people who were mostly busy in their day today routines in fields. "In just half an hour 17 people got injured in the bear attack, sources said further adding, "injured were shifted to Public Health Center (PHC) Boniyar, were from three were shifted to District Hospital (DH) Baramulla". Early Times have learnt from its reliable sources that 17 injured have been shifted to Boniyar Hospital from where three were referred to DH Baramulla for their critical injuries. However other injured people were discharged from Public Health Center (PHC) Boniyar after proper treatment. Locals also staged a protest against the Wildlife Department for their negligence, according to local resident of Banali Liyaqat Ali Khan that this is not the first incident of bear attacking in past wild animals have injured many people in the area. "As winter will set in these wild animals come to villages and at the time nobody is seen from wildlife department for our help, we need protection as we do live near forests," khan said. Meanwhile the critical injured who were shifted to Baramulla have been identified namely as Abdul Ahad Ganai, Abdul Majid Ganai of Banali Trikanjan Uri and Mohammad Ramzan Naiko a wild life department employee who reportedly succumbed to his critical injuries. Meanwhile in another incident Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered a male body at Kranshivan Sopore in Baramulla districton Thursday Morning. According to sources that identity of the body has been ascertained as Nazir Ahmad Khari (65) s/o Raj Mohammad of Balshama, Sunderbani, Rajouri. Khari was working as a laborer in Sopore from past six months who was found dead in an orchard at Krankshioun sources said and added a case in this regard stands registered at Police Station Tarzoo. |
