DB issue directions to CS, DCs of Jammu, Samba & Ors | PIL regarding adequate facility to Pak firing victims | | Jammu, Aug 28 (JNF) : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Farooq Khan Retired IGP turned Politician seeking direction to State to provide adequate medicare, food and lodging to the displaced persons because of recent Pakistan firing at International Border at R S Pura sector, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan today after hearing Sr. Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Ankesh chandel appearing for the PIL noted the plight of the victims. Sr. Advocate Sunil Sethi submitted that Veterinary help is required at the end of the Government without any waste of time as there is apprehension of breaking down of epidemic in all those areas and seeking directions to the respondents at this stage itself. Division Bench issued notices to Chief Secretary to Govt. of J&K, Principal Secretary to Home Dept, Secretary Health & Medical Education, Secretary Social Welfare dept, Secretary Animal Husbandry Department, notices were accepted by Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra. While issuing notices, Division Bench directed Director Health services Jammu to provide medical care to firing victims without any waste of time. Division Bench also directed Deputy Commissioner, Jammu/Samba to provide proper food & lodging to the firing victims. Deputy Commissioners of these two districts may associate their respective District Red Cross Society. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu/Samba also directed to take care of the properties left by the firing victims. Division Bench also directed Director Sheep Husbandry, Jammu to provide medical care and treatment to livestock, and remove bodies of dead animals immediately. Division bench further directed Chief Secretary J&K to constitute a team headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu to visit the spot and prepare the Status Report and action taken thereon, which will be cross checked by Chief Secretary to the Government. Division Bench further observed that a complete Status Report shall be placed before the Court well before the next date of hearing with a copy in advance to be provided to Sr. Advocate Sunil Sethi enabling him to put forth his further suggestions to achieve the cause projected herein. Before parting with the order, Division Bench observe here that there are certain other aspects also as highlighted in the instant petition requiring our attention, but defer consideration on those aspects at this stage. |
