Damaged roads causing deaths, allege people 8/31/2014 10:54:52 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 31: Inhabitants of Kotranka and its adjoining areas held a mass protest at Kotranka against the district administration and GREF authorities and alleged that for the last 2-3 years the road from Rajouri to Budhal is being widened and the road is in very bad conditions. Pot holes, water dumping at every point has created problems for the commuters as well as for the vehicle owners. The widening work was started about 3 years ago and still it is in progress and people residing on the road side especially have become victim of many diseases caused due to dust pollution. They alleged that the widening work was started simultaneously from different places and all the roads that are leading to Reasi district are in dilapidated condition and posing threat to the lives of innocent people travelling in the passenger transport. Few months back a bus fell deep in the gorge after it slipped on the fresh soil caused due to widening near village Sawari . Five persons were killed in the accident . People alleged that concerned authorities don't bother about the problems being faced by the commuters and they only bother to complete the work as per their guidelines and time frame. Mohd Din , Karamat Hussain and many other protesters has warned the authorities to carry out necessary repairs on the road so that the commuters don't suffer and if they failed then it has been decided that they will organize protest demonstration before the offices of Deputy Commissioner and SSP at Rajouri.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
