Is Jammu Police afraid of dubious 'leader'? | | | Abodh Sharma Jammu, Sept 1: Forced into coercion by the sham nuisance value of a self styled leader of the city, Jammu Police have failed to deliver justice to its own man by taking no action against the said leader despite an FIR registered against him under non bailable sections, for assaulting his own PSO. Sources divulge that an FIR was registered against one Ashok Gupta, a self styled leader of elusive Shiv Sena and little known Dogra Front after he assaulted a PSO provided to him by the state Police. The FIR was registered at PP Parade ground under Police Station Pacca Danga several months ago, but despite the fact that a man in khaki was subjected to physical abuse and mental agony by the 'leader', Jammu Police have assumed inexplicable silence on the issue clearly indicating that that the 'Jaanbaaz' police is afraid of the nuisance value of the self appointed leader who keeps organizing protests to misrepresent himself as city's leader eventhough insiders believe that he does not enjoy support of even ten people in the entire city. Sources reveal that the Jammu Police bosses are not on the same page in acting against the leader, even as certain lower rung officials seek action against him under law to restore confidence amongst many constables who are forced to work as PSOs of similar leaders who have no security threat perception and who ill-treat men in uniform as domestic helps. Sources also divulge that while bosses have been evading action against him, several of them were pro active in brokering a compromise when the son of the said leader was found involved in a criminal case recently. " A person who hires ten people to raise anti establishment slogans and projects himself as mass leader should not be allowed to hoodwink law so easily," said a constable working as a PSO of another self styled leader. |
