Passing away of Balraj Puri great loss to state: Randhir Singh | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 2: Condoling the demise of Balraj Puri, president of NCP's state unit Randhir Singh said that it was a great loss to state of Jammu and Kashmir. According to press release, a condolence meeting was held in the office of state NCP. Thakur described late Balraj Puri a multifaceted genius and a prolific writer and recipient of Padma Bhuushan and Indira Gandhi award for National Integration and other many national awards. Thakur Randhir Singh said passing away of Balraj Puri was a great loss to Jammu and Kashmir and a personal loss to me whom Puri was known for the last 50 years. Singh said the vacuum caused by the death of Puri in the field of socio culture and political life of the country is difficult to be filled. State NCP demanded from the state Govt to name a prominent place after Late Balraj Puri in Jammu town. Two minutes silence was observed in the memory of Late Balraj Puri and heartfelt sympathies were conveyed to members of bereaved family and prayed to Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to the grieved family and his relations. Those who expressed grief and sorrow include Kamal Gupta, Prof GM Pal, Satpal Sharma, Prof PD Shastri, Gulab Chand Bhagat, R S Billowaria, Gourav Kapoor, Tarsem Manhas, Sandeep Manhas, Tariq Nar, Ashok Singh and R C Bali. |
