Poswal calls on President, demands Governor’s rule in J&K | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 2: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (BGM) today demanded governor rule in Jammu and Kashmir over failure of government to people residing border areas. According to press release, President BGM Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, has demanded from the president of India to impose a Governor's rule in the state alleging that the state government has failed to protect the people on account of continuous firing from across the border by Pakistani troops. Poswal raised demand during a meeting with President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at Jammu, today, Governor NN Vohra was also present in the meeting. "The State Government, has been running from its responsibility of taking care of the people suffering from cross border firing by shifting the responsibility on the central government", Poswal alleged. He said that the people are getting killed, their property is getting damaged, and many have migrated leaving their native places. "But the state government has failed to provide them basic amenities as well as safe shelters", he alleged adding, "The ministers just issue statements that the people are taken care of, but on ground the situation is exactly different". During the meeting Poswal also demanded that the state government has failed to provide scholarships to the Gujjar and Bakkerwal students from the last more than 3 years due to which their studies are getting affected. "The students studying in professional colleges outside the state and in the state are not getting scholarships", he said. Further Poswal also demanded from the President, to ensure proper implementation of Tribal Sub Plan so that the Gujjar and Bakkerwals are benefitted. |
