JAMMU, Sept 2: District Srinagar today qualified for the final of both boys and girls categories in the ongoing inter-district state level under-19 badminton competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at BSF Stadium, here. In the boys semifinals, played today, Srinagar defeated district Kargil 2-0. The Results: Ishan bt Mohd Alyas 21-09, 21-08; Ishan and Sarib bt Mohd Alyas and Salim Ahmed 21-09, 21-08. Now, in the final, Srinagar shall take on district Udhampur tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinal, Udhampur trounced district Jammu 2-1. The Results: Bhaveshwar bt Dhanajay 21-16, 20-22, 21-13; Dhanajay and Vikram bt Bhaveshwar and Sachin 21-13, 21-11.Reverse singles: Vikram bt Sachin 21-07, 21-06. Meanwhile, Srinagar district girls also reached the final today. Now, they shall be playing against district Kathua for the title tomorrow. Earlier, Kathua girls defeated Jammu 2-0: The Results: Shikha bt Anjum 21-04, 21-10; Shikha and Durga bt Anjum and Tahira 21-07, 21-11. In other semifinal, Srinagar trounced district Udhampur 2-1: Asama bt Rahat 21-13, 21-09; Intzar and Zahira lost to Anchal and Rahat 14-21, 19-21. Reverse Singles: Intzar bt Anchal 21-16, 15-21, 21-19.
