Create awareness among people to add 25%more to poll percentage in LS polls: DDC

Rajouri, Sept 2: In view of the forthcoming assembly election 2014,the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Jitendra Kumar Singh convened a meeting of all district and block officers at Dak Bungalow here today and asked them to gear up for upcoming election with the motive to add up' 25%'more to the overall voting percentage attained in previous parliamentary election.
While addressing the meeting DDC Rajouri suggested various ways and means for ensuring maximum participation of voters in assembly election 2014. He also stressed upon the officers for distribution of pamphlets, banners at prominent places, organising Nukkad nataks, road shows, plays, local folk songs cultural programme at public functions where public gathering is at large & even asked the nodal officer SVEEP to organize polling station wise SVEEP with the involvement of BLO, Anganwadi workers , ASHA workers ,sarpanches , lamberdaar & chowkidar in order to bring awareness about SVEEP at gross root level.
DDC also asked CEO & Principal of Govt Degree College ,Rajouri to organise ' a walk for democracy ' on Sept 10 to create mass awareness. Meanwhile a district level committee consisting of ACD, XEn PWD, PHE, CEO is formulated by DDC and is asked to prepare a report regarding status of Basic Minimum Facilities being provided at identified polling stations on the basis of photographs of polling stations. At the last, DDC asked the officers to share with him any innovative methods and ideas which could be undertaken under SVEEP for enhanced electoral registration & participation in order to make SVEEP a success.
