| DB directs VC JDA to present personally along with costs Rs 25000/- | | Alleged conversion of 'residential area into commercial' | | Jammu, Sept 2(JNF): In a significant order passed by a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan has taken serious note of the non-compliance of court order dtd November 10, 2009 passed by then Division Bench, today directed Vice Chairperson Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to be present in the Court on the next date of hearing along with costs of Rs 25,000/- as imposed in terms of order dtd March 27, 2013, least the court is constraint to take a very harsh view in the matter.
After hearing Adv SK Shukla in length, Division Bench dismissed the application filed by VC JDA and directed that VC JDA is present on the Court on next date of hearing along with costs of Rs 25,000/-. Division Bench observed vide order dated March 27, 2014 last opportunity was granted to JDA to take all required steps for modification of lay out plan of Roop Nagar, Housing Colony, Jammu.
Earlier Adv SK Shukla submitted that even the last opportunity was subject to the payment of cost of Rs 25000/- to be deposited by VC JDA, which was disbursed to Legal Service Authority and also added vide Court order, the Vice Chairman shall not debit the account of the JDA but shall pay the costs from personal pocket. |
