PDP cautions against lackluster approach in disbursing relief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14: Calling upon the residents of Jammu and Kashmir to unitedly face the calamity caused by the unprecedented rains and floods in almost every nook and corner of the State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that the prevailing situation requires patience, help, co-operation from all regions and sub-regions of the State and pooling in of all resources in terms of finances or manpower. Addressing a meeting of senior party leaders to assess the prevailing flood situation in the State, PDP leader Vikramaditya said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a critical time and it is need of the hour that the residents of every region and sub-region of the State should extend helping hands to each other to face the unprecedented crisis. "This is a testing time for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir because State has been facing the worst ever natural calamity of the recent times", he said and exhorted PDP workers to extend every possible help to the affected families in every nook and corner of the State. Vikramaditya further said that the magnitude of the floods and the scale of damage are far too high so this situation demands an effective and comprehensive approach to rescue and rehabilitate the affected families. He impressed upon the authorities to take some preventive measures as threats of health hazards and fear of epidemics looms large due to accumulation of water in many parts of the State. |
