Jammu, Sept 14: Justice M.M Kumar, Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, who is also Patron-in-Chief, J&K State Legal Services Authority (J&K SLSA), along with Justice Virender Singh, Judge, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Executive Chairman, J&K SLSA, visited the Relief Camps opened for flood affected people at Yatri Bhawani, Bhagwati Nagar and Khatika Talab, Jammu to take stock of facilities being provided to them by the district administration.
The flood affected people apprised the dignitaries about the problems being faced by them. They were asked to approach the Legal Aid Clinics opened there for them by J&K SLSA. The Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), who are working 24 hours in the temporary Legal Aid Clinics, were directed to forward the grievances of the victims / families to the district administration for their redressal.
Core Group headed by Prem Sagar, Additional Mobile Magistrate, Jammu was directed to ensure immediate help of Government and non-Government Agencies to flood affected victims, to coordinate with the different Departments of Government and NGOs for bringing immediate relief to flood affected victims, to supervise the distribution of relief materials to victims, to supervise the construction of temporary shelters, to supervise the health care and sanitation of the flood affected victims/families and prevent spread of epidemics amongst inhabitants of these areas, to supervise the need of women and children, to ensure availability of food, medicines and drinking water to flood affected victims/families, to get the benefit of the promises and assurances announced by the Government, to assist their re-habilitation, care and future education of children, etc. |
