Former CPO’s son among 2 arrested for attempt to murder | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14: Domana Police arrested two persons including a son of former Chief Prosecuting Officer (CPO) for attempt to murder on two cops, who are being treated in GMC hospital here today. The accused have been identified as Pintu Manhas son of Baldev Singh( ex CPO) and Kuldeep Singh alias Soni ( president of Bantalab Bazaar Association). They were booked under sections 307,4/25 Arms Act, 353 and 147 RPC. However, people of the area held protest against police for arresting them. They were later pacified by the senior police officers . The protestors had alleged that the two cops namely Inderjeet Singh and Kuldeep Singh has no role in this incident still police arrested him illegally. Meanwhile police said that ex CPO’s son was engaged with a lady, whom he projected as his wife, when inquired by the cops on duty. “ Since the accused was known personality of the area and the cops knew that he was unmarried, therefore, cops started inquiring the matter”, a senior cop said, adding the accused after some time appeared with the group of people and beat the cops. The senior police officer further said that the Kuldeep Singh, whom protestors said,was not involved in the incident, was identified by the victim cops. |
