Early Times Report

Udhampur, Sept 15: The victims of rains and flood of district Udhampur have alleged that administration has not been paying any heed towards their problems.
While prime focus of the government carrying rescue and relief operation continued to be in Kashmir valley, the hapless people from most of the remote areas of Udhampur dsitrict are still on the mercy of God by the Administration.
Contrary to tall claims of government, several Sarpanchs and Numberdars from various areas of Majalta tehsil claimed that in majority of panchyats of tehsil they have not seen presence of any administration member .
Tall claims of administration and govt seem exposed on ground when we find it that even in a case a family who is victim of recent rains would havenot been provided any relief and despite approachimg Deputy Commissioner office they are forced to live in unsafe damaged house as their prayer application is moving from piller to post .
Talking to Media Shallu Khajuria alleged that she along with her mother is living in a dilapidated house after recent heavy rains as her house got damaged . She added as there is no male member in her home after the death of her father who was a ex serviceman she went to Deputy Commissioner office with application and DC mark it to Tehsildar who further mark it to patwari . She added moving one office to another no one provide them alternate accommodation nor any tent or relief material what we got we are preparing list of victims and afterwards do something . she added .
Subash Chander chiarman Punee panchayat of Majalta alleged that dozens of houses have b been collapsed in Katheel village where people are force to spent their nights in open but till date except a patwari who too came after five days has noted names of effected people no releif are rescue has been provided to effected people.
Joginder Singh of Katheel alleged that his house collapsed in recent heavy rains and all the family members have narrow escape as at the time of incident his was within house along with his wife and four daughters .
The effected people alleged that no one came to accommodate them in safer place nor any tent, blankets, food material, ration etc has been provided so far. Uttam singh who has also lost his house in haevy rains and spending nights in open along with his family members alleged that despite it one week has passed Administration is totally missing.
The concerned officials have failed to reach up the people. There is massive loss of property, land and crops of the villagers. He added claim of administration that they are providing free ration nad help to victims but nothing has been til date.
