Sumit Sharma JAMMU, Sept 15: Resentment brewed among the government employees, especially, those posted in the Civil Secretariat in summer capital of the Jammu and Kashmir following the government order to stick to their duties back in Srinagar as those who have reached Jammu from flood ravaged Srinagar had horrible experience over there. Some of them have been admitted in the Gandhi Nagar hospital for treatment while some are being operated in psychiatric hospital, Ambphalla. As per sad tale of the Jammu based government employees, they remained on fourth floor of the Estate Department flats, situated opposite, Kashmir High Court, for six days without having food and water. The group of lady employees including Mawa families of Kashmiris, admitted in the hospitals said that, after seeing no option, as there was no relief and rescue operation service came to them, they sought help from the Shikarawalas, who demanded hefty money to drop them at Airport. It was after taking gold items including bangles bangles, Mangalsutra, ear rings etc, the Shikarawals dropped them at their destination from where they landed in Jammu, their home town. The employees , mostly ladies, came down from fourth floor of the flats after making rope of their clothes. "The government's ultimatum to the employees to retrieve back to their duties is a ramshackle one as there is no administration, no security cover to the employees, instead, the Civil Secretariat should resume their duties in winter capital till the normalcy prevail in Kashmir", said Parveen Kapahi, advocate in Jammu High Court, who is husband of one of the aggrieved employee admitted in the Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital. Rohit Mawa, another husband of the employee posted in Civil Secretariat said, " Centre government should impose Governor rule in Jammu and Kashmir state as there is no administration, no security cover. In other words complete lawlessness". |
