Rustam JAMMU, Sept 16: Traitors, seditionists, terrorists, mercenaries, fanatics and enemies of humanity and Kashmiri people like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik and Shabir Ahmad Shah, who remained conspicuous by their absence during the first 10 days of the national disaster, started showing their cruel and ugly faces two days ago. Yasin Malik, who himself was rescued by the Indian army and who hijacked relief and rescue boat on Monday or who committed a highway robbery to hamper the relief and rescue work and Geelani, Mirwaiz and Shah, resurfaced not because they wanted to contribute to the ongoing humanitarian work on an unprecedented scale but to further add to the woes of the starving and entrapped Kashmiri people and other Indian nationals. Instead of spending a few rupees out of the billion ill-gotten rupees they had collected from the enemies of India for providing some relief to the flood victims, they unleashed a vilification campaign against the Indian army and the Indian State. Not just this, they have unleashed their goons so that they could pelt stones on the air force aircrafts, relief and rescue boats and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and hamper the humanitarian work. Our relief and rescue teams deserve all appreciation for their determination to continue their operations against all odds, including threat to their invaluable lives. Our security forces, particularly our army jawans and officers, deserve all appreciation all the more because in the middle of all this, they are also taking time off to take care of and eliminate Pakistani infiltrators along the Line of Control who are attempting to take advantage of the situation of chaos created by floods across the state. In other words, they are discharging two duties simultaneously: They are rescuing the flood victims and they are also protecting our borders. Indeed, their role is splendid. The Geelanis, the Mirwaizs, the Maliks, the Shahs and their ilk, who live like maharajas in their palatial mansions in posh localities in Srinagar and run money minting factories under the very nose of the law and order authorities, should have been brought to justice by now, but it has not happened. These handfuls of mercenaries, enemies of humanity and merchants of death and destruction or butchers have been given full freedom to roam about freely and conduct anti-humanity and anti-state activities operations with utmost ease. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah government must act against them and act fast without losing a single moment. It is the fundamental duty of the state to act against traitors, seditionists, terrorists, mercenaries, fanatics and enemies of humanity. They have crossed all the lines. They cannot be allowed to roam about free and create problems for the relief and rescue teams. In case the Omar Abdullah government fails to act against them, the government of India should intervene. For, what the mercenaries have started doing in the Valley is fraught with dangerous consequences. Enough is enough. Ask Omar Abdullah to act and if he fails, ask him to quit. |
