JAMMU, Sept 17: Seeking cooperation of the civil society to avoid use of polythene during coming festivals this year, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A.K. Sahu emphasized on making the festival days polythene free and also minimizing noise pollution. SSP Traffic Jammu, Pawan Parihar and other officers of civil and police administration attended the meeting. While finalizing the arrangements for Navratras, DC took stock of the preparations at Bahu Fort where the main function will be held and also at other venues.. Deliberations were held for proper arrangements of cleanliness, sanitation, restoration of damaged roads around the temples, barricading, uninterrupted supply of water and electricity to ensure illumination and proper lighting in temples. Availability of medicare facilities including doctors and para-medical staff and fire tenders was also ensured. It was apprised that this year no cultural programme will be held during the Navratras whereas the religious rituals would continue as per past practice. |
