Jammu, Sept 17: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to issue necessary instructions to the concerned heads of the departments to immediate release the pending dues of the casual laborers who have been working last so many days to tackle the problems of general public in affected areas without any wages. Addressing a emergency meeting of NMC activists here, Shastri said that these poor casual laborers are facing financial hardships due to price hike and inflation as their services have not been regularized nor they are getting their wages in time adding that the delay in release of pending dues would put financial burden on the state exchequer but also increase the difficulties of casual laborers. Early release of pending wages will be genuine measure to provide some financial relief to them, he said. However, NMC fully cooperating with the provincial administration in resorting the normalcy in the state, he added. Two minutes silent was observed in memory of those who lost their lives due to flash floods in the state. Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Surrinder Kumar, Com Barkat Ram, Ram Lal Sharma, Madan Lal, Darshan Lal, Dalip Kumar, Yash Paul Sharma, Bupinder Singh and many others. |
