Jammu, Sept 17: Senior Congress leader and Member Legislative Council (MLC) B R Kundal today visited Salher, Bole Chack, Tara Chack, Jagtu Chack to take first hand information regarding damages occurred to public and private properties following incessant rains. During the visit to flood affected areas, the Congress MLC held interactive meetings at different places wherein besides large number of residents particularly ladies. Sarpanches Sangram Singh, Ram Paul Sharma, Naib Sarpaanches Subash Chander, Ravi Singh, Chairman Panchayati Adalat Committee Vijay Kumar, Lamberdars Omkar Singh, Munshi Ram and other Panches also accompanied the visiting leader. Speaking with the gathering B R Kundal expressed grief over the loss of human lives and property and also appreciated the coordinated efforts by various central and state agencies to mitigate the suffering of the residents in both the provinces of Jammu & Kashmir. While interacting with locals, he was informed that in the visited villages local administration with alacrity assessed the damaged and he impressed upon the Administration to provide the relief at earliest. Locals also informed him about non availability of power in village Jagtu Chack and waterlogging of streets village Salher and Jagtu Chack. MLC acting promptly to grievances of locals telephonically raised the issues with local administration and asked to take remedial steps at the earliest possible. |
