Hajj flights to start from September 20 :Peerzada | | | JAMMU, Sept 17 : Minister for Hajj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammad Sayed today chaired a high level meeting in which the modalities for carrying out the Hajj flights for the left over pilgrims were discussed. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Revenue Vinod Koul Director Information Tasudaq Geelani, Director Airports, Hajj office and other senior officers of police and civil administration. It was decided in the meeting that the flights for leftover 3575 Hajjis would be started from 20 September, 2014 and devotees should report to Srinagar Airport at 7.am. These pilgrims would constitute the first flight which would depart at 12.pm for their onward journey to Mecca. Similarly the pilgrims of the second flight would be required to report at 12 noon which would depart at 2.pm. It was informed that each flight would ferry 275 pilgrims and in total 13 flights would be operational for the pilgrims. It was also informed that there would be no flight for 23 September, 2014 and pilgrims would be provided ahram at Srinagar and they are also requested to bring their passports and tickets with them. It was also decided that the haj pilgrims who shall report directly to airport shall be provided all facilities at the airport so that the movement is hassle free. The meeting was informed that since the pilgrims shall be giving to Makkah Mubarak, they will have to wear ahram at airport for which there shall be adequate facilities. The pilgrims are requested to keep the ahram and chappal in the handbag. It was emphasized that only one person driving the vehicle should accompany the pilgrims as no other person shall be allowed to enter the airport. |
