Jitendra Singh takes stock of rescue, relief operations at Kathua | | | Kathua, Sept 17: Union Minister of State in PMO office, Dr Jitendra Singh today visited Kathua and held meeting with the district administration and citizens to assess the rescue and relief operations in flood-hit areas of the district and had first hand appraisal of the situation arises due to damages. As per press release, Singh claimed that union government in its continuing move to over the epidemic challenge in Kashmir that has worstly hit with flood fury. When he was speaking in a meeting held by District administration at Kathua to take stock on the loss status caused because of heavy rains recently in Kathua district, he said that every effort will be made to compensate the loss. He said first ever seen such level of quick rescue operations were launched by the union government to handle the gruesome situation in the state and said people of Kashmir should be grateful for army, BSF, CRPF and NDRF for carrying rescue operations. He said three causalities due to flash floods in Kathua are also and their families would also be given ex-gratia as per the norm under the supervision of District administration Kathua. He also advised the District Administration to hold regular meetings with such group of citizens in order to avoid accusation of any partiality in distribution of relief material.MLA Basohli Jagdish Spolia while speaking on the ocassion said that the work of assessment is still going on in his constituency as few of remote areas still inaccessible. |
