Supwal vehicle burning incident: Clash between two top cops on I/C PP's transfer

Jammu, Sept 17: Four days after the Supwal incident in which a police vehicle was set on fire by the people and later the issue was settled with the arrest of the accused involved in hit and run case, a new twist in the incident has taken place raising many eyebrows.
Though the case was settled, I/C Police Post Supwal was transferred immediately.
However, in a bid to bring him back, senior police officer forwarded an application of leave to his immediate senior police officer till his retirement. The act of the police officer has thus become a subject of whisper-mongering among police department.
Highly placed sources informed that the high voltage drama in police department took place following the transfer of the IC/PP Supwal, Samba to Rajouri- Poonch range. Reacting over the transfer, the senior police officer made request to his immediate head for cancellation of the same as the matter had been sorted out, adding that there was no laxities on the part of IC/PP Supwal as it was a technical fault in the vehicle, which fumigated the people who were taking the injured to the hospital, who later set the vehicle on fire.
After realizing that his pleas was being ignored by his boss, the officer, wrote an application letter to him for leave till he attains retirement.
Pertinent to mention here that on 12 September a police's vehicle was set on fire by mob after a youth succumbed to injuries after being hit by a tractor trolley in Supwal area falls in district Samba .
The situation became tense when people reportedly hundred in numbers came on road and to express their resentment set the Police vehicle ( 407 matador) on fire. The vehicle was parked nearby the spot where the incident took place.
The incident took place when one Mohinder Sharma was hit by a tractor trolley. The people of the area informed the police as the incident took place just 100 meter away from Supwal Police Post.
To take the injured to hospital, people put him in the police vehicle parked nearby but the vehicle had technical snag and after some time, the injured succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor trolley flee from the spot with his vehicle. The circumstances filled the people with anger and they set the police vehicle on fire. Later, police arrested the absconding driver involved in hit and run case identified as Shashi Kumar Sharma son of Nanak Dass Sharma resident of Vijaypur.
