Floods washed away BJP's dream to achieve Plus 44 seats | People annoyed over arrogant style of BJP leaders | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 18: Although Central leadership of BJP has been mobilizing huge resources to send relief to the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir, the inefficient state unit of the party has failed to reach out to the affected families. During the last nearly 10 days the over-confident leadership of BJP has failed to reach out at grass root level. While as party ministers are conducting only aerial survey and conducting photo sessions at district headquarters only, other leaders of the party are more concerned about organizing press conferences at Jammu and other areas. Shockingly people of Jammu region had voted over-overwhelmingly in favour of BJP in the recently held Lok Sabha elections with a hope that elected representatives would help them at the time of crisis but at the time of calamity BJP leadership failed to respond properly. Glaring example is Siddal village of Udhampur which was completely wiped out in the land-sliding. For three days residents of this ill-fated villages cried for help but of no avail. Instead of visiting these worst affected village, BJP leaders were more concerned about visiting Srinagar where Army and other agencies had already launched a comprehensive rescue operation. It was only three days of land-sliding a BJP leader conducted aerial survey in the area. Ironically, activists of RSS have reached to the affected villages and people even during the flood and heavy rains. But BJP leaders and Ministers, who have huge resources at their command, failed to respond to the people at the time of need. These days BJP leaders have become very arrogant and high headed so they are least concerned about the common masses. Credible sources in the BJP said that RSS and other organisations are not happy with the behaviour of BJP leaders at the time of crisis. Contrary to the attitude of BJP leaders and ministers, Congress leadership availed this opportunity and reached to most of the affected families. Former Union Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has once again proved his capability as leader. He has so far visited most of the affected areas of Jammu province along with other senior leaders Wide spread anger among BJP leaders is a clear indication that hopes of BJP to achieve the target of Plus 44 has washed away in the floods and incessant rains. People are realizing that BJP leaders are becoming more arrogant and high headed after winning Lok Sabha elections. |
