Jammu, Sept 19: Police today arrested a truck driver and recovered 14 kgs of banned forest produce Nagshatri from his possession during naka checking at Chowki Chowra.
"The accused has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, police said. "On specific information a police party led by in-charge police post Chowki Chowra Joginder Kumar raised a naka at Chowki Choura and intercepted, a truck bearing regd number JK02P-4731."During thorough search, the police party recovered 14 Kilogram Nagshatri from the truck", said police spokesman. "The above said accused was arrested by police and a case under FIR No. 184/2014 u/s 6/15/16 Forest Act, 4 LTR Act, 379/411 of RPC stands registered at Police Station Akhnoor. Meanwhile further investigation is going on, police spokesperson added. |
