The members who participated in meeting pin pointed that the administration was fully aware of the fact that the stranded officials were not provided any kind of assistance or rescue assistance by the government which itself is a wrong doing at the part of concerned authorities . Participating members which even included some higher officials, alleged that the government was nowhere on ground during first five days of flood turmoil and added that after five days when government came into existence and to their surprise an order was issued directing the officials to report on their duty within the stipulated period. "It was the matter of surprise that without having provided any kind of assistance or having rescued any of the employees trapped at inundated hotels or government quarters, they lamented and said, "the state government issued such an order in hurry without taking the employees' problem into consideration." They said that every employee understands that the government is in need of the services of employees for making the civil secretariat functional and without providing the basic amenities to its human resources it as inappropriate to make the employees work in different locations of flood ravaged Srinagar city; apart from civil secretariat. This faction of employees said that under present circumstances, it will be difficult for the administration to safe guard the rights of the employees as both government as well as the administration is busy in providing the relief to the marooned people. In their charter the employees suggested that in order to manage its affairs, the government must establish a camp office at Jammu Secretariat so that the urgent work could be accomplished by utilizing the services of the stranded employees. They however showed their willingness that they are ready to move to Srinagar subjected to the condition that the government will provide alternative accommodation to all the employees at safer places including mess, medical aid, and transportation facility till Darbar move to Jammu. They also demanded vaccination of all the employees through Director Health Services Jammu and kashmir. They also said that many female employees are in state of shock and their family members are reluctant to send them back for attending their duties at Srinagar and thus government should see this matter on 'humanitarian grounds.' |
