SRINAGAR, Sept 19: Meanwhile, the stagnant flood waters in the low-lying areas of Srinagar and outskirts are being pumped out by the officers and field staff of the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA). The areas where the staff is engaged in the de-watering operation include Bemina, Rajbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Lal Chowk, Maisuma etc.
In addition to the ONGC equipment, the ERA staff has also pressed into service the machinery of the department to pump out water. The officials refuted the charge that the ERA machinery was not functioning to pump out the flood water. |
