JAMMU, Sept 19: The watchman of Guest House of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, (GMCH) seems to have become all powerful as he has lodged FIR against the woman, who is running mess facility in the guest house, thus bypassing the power of GMC principal in this regard.
According to sources, watchman Ravi Sharma, who allegedly enjoys the backing of a senior doctor and close relative of a former J&K chief minister, threatened Surinder Kour who is running the mess facility within the premises of Medical Faculty Club/Guest House under a written contract No Pharma/2014/24 dated 25. 06. 2014, a copy of which is in possession of Early Times and then registered an FIR against her.
The registration of FIR by a Chowkidaar is being seen as his attempt to bypass GMC Principal, Dr. Ganshyam Dev, who is Vice-President of Medical Faculty Club (MFC), as there is an internal Committee to look after the MFC affairs. The MFC has acting Principal and Dean of the Government Medical College Jammu, Dr. Ganshyam Dev as its Vice-President with Secretary and members.
But when Ganshyam was contacted, he didn't comment on the issue of bypassing his authority by a chowkidar.
FIR was registered against Surinder Kour who has already run the MFC mess for a period of 2.5 years earlier for allegedly creating chaotic atmosphere in the canteen but according to sources, when police visited the canteen premises, all employees and others praised her for her conduct. But her contract to run the canteen was cancelled by the MFC Secretary, Dr Zahid Gillani with order number MFC/GMC/14/27 dated 16.09.2014.
But Dr Zahid came to know on 18-09-2014 that he had been ousted from the MFC on 20-08-2014 and a new committee had been constituted with Dr Ganshyam as Vice-President, Dr Tariq Azad as Secretary, Dr. Mukta Jatindra, Associate Professor Anesthesia, Dr. Mritunjay, Associate Professor, Physiology, Dr. AS Bhatia, Associate Professor and HoD Biochemistry and Dr. Sanjeev Gupta as Associate Professor Orthopaedic.
Sources said that this whole drama was played to help the chowkidar who himself wants to run the canteen. |
