Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 19: Keeping in view the future hardships to face by public due to digging of lanes by telecom companies, a deputation of city residents met with DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary in the leadership of BJP leader Ravinder Singh Pathania, on Friday. Alleging the telecom companies responsible for the feeble condition of roads and lanes of city Ravinder Singh apprised DDC that the main reason is that these telecom companies just dig the roads and lanes, and vanish from scene just after laying their cables. Singh said that some years back the road to their ward was constructed. Since then, the BSNL, Reliance, Airtel and PHE department regularly keep on digging the road to lay cables and pipes. "They just come and go (fill up the digging sites formally), leaving behind the people to suffer," he rued. Alleging the concerned cellular service providers of digging roads, he said, "The half of the roads and lanes in the city are in pitiable condition due to digging, causing huge inconvenience to the local population. " The deputationists sought the intervention of District Development Commissioner Kathua in this regard who listened their grievances patiently and assured of taking action in this regard. |
