Madan launches 'plantation drive' under Vanmahatsav | | | Early Times Report jammu, Sept 20: Former MP & Ex Minister Madan Lal Sharma today launched a plantation drive at Bhartiya Shiksha Kender Domana Jammu which was organized with an aim to maintain ecological balance in surrounding environment. The programme was organised by Nirvana Academy as a National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) on the theme "Bio-diversity conservation". Madan Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest on occasion while Vikrant Dogra, Vice President Federation of Indian Blood Donors' Organisation (FIBDO), Vikas Dogra, Vice President PRAYAS were the Guest of Honour and Raj Singh MD Bhartiya Shiksha Kender Domana was the special guest. On this occasion Chief guest Madan Lal Sharma planted saplings of local medicine plant and exhorted students to plant trees for maintaining ecological balance which is vanishing due to mass industrialization and other global warming activities. During the plantation drive Sharma also inaugurated relief distribution collected by the school and appealed the generous contribution towards relief for flood hit people of J&K. Earlier various cultural programmes were presented by the students on environmental issues and later chief guest presented trophies and certificates among the students . At the onset Sandhya Pathania Principal of Bhartiya Shiksha Kender School presented wekcome address. Sandhya Pathania Principal, Hitesh Badyal, Deepak Dutta, Ashok Pandita, Sohan Lal, local Sarpanchs and eminent citizens were also present on this occasion. |
