ICAR team visits Rajouri-Poonch to assess functioning of KVKs, losses | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 20: A high level team of ICAR headed by Dr Parbhu Kumar, Zonal Project Director visited Rajouri-Poonch border districts to assess the functioning of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and also to make assements of the losses occurred to the KVK properties due to recent floods/landslides followed by incessant rains. He was accompanied by Dr K S Risam, Director Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu and Dr Ajmer Singh, Senior Scientist of ZPD- Ludhiana. Dr P Kumar is on tour of the Jammu Division to assess the losses caused to the KVKs functioning under jurisdiction of SKUAST-Jammu. The team took stock of the losses incurred to the property of KVKs and prepared a detailed report of the losses. Interacting with the scientists of KVK, Rajouri, Dr Prabhu Kumar applauded the efforts being made by the KVK team and advised them to put more efforts to bring latest scientific technologies at the door step of farmers of the district. He also stressed to issue proper advisories for flood affected farmers. He also advised KVK to be prepared for coming Rabi season so as to have healthy crops. |
