Poonch, Sept 20: Expressing hardship being faced by the flood affected people of border district of Poonch, General secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today demanded that tents and other relief material should be immediately sent to the affected areas and affected families. Yash Pal Sharma visited flood affected areas of Khanater, Dalera, Bainch, Kuniyan, Mangnar, Dhara, Dulliyan, Khwadiyan, Julllas and Salotri in Poonch and adjoining localities. He said that miseries of flood affected people have been increasing with every passing day but the government has failed to take some steps to minimize miseries of these helpless people. He said that over 500 houses have been totally damaged in the recent floods and incessant rains but authorities have failed to dispatch adequate number of tents to the affected families. Mr Yash Pal Sharma further said that flood affected areas are facing scarcity of ration which contradict claims of the government that adequate ration has been supplied in the affected areas. He further demanded that before commencement of the winter season authorities should provide adequate ration to the flood affected families so that these ill-fated families could not face any hardship during the winters. Yash Pal Sharma was accompanied by Shah Mohammad Tantray, Shahzad Khan, Bashir Khaki and Rashid Khan. PDP leaders assured the affected families that party would leave no stone unturned to solve their problems. |
