J&K Connect Centre Jammu proves it worth, traces many individuals | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: Proving its worth the J&K Connect Centre Jammu established with an aim to trace the people trapped in marooned valley for whom their family members were upset and were running from pillar to post, the 24x7 J&K Connect Centre set-up in the Office Complex of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu since last four days ago has traced many individuals and facilitated their rejoining to their families. According official spokesperson the centre with four dedicated telephone lines, including two toll-free numbers 18001807049, 18001807050, 01912471522 and 01912471922, 288 telephone calls have been received and 362 persons were reported to be missing so far. Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Centre who is the Nodal Officer of J&K Connect Centre stated that the list of these missing persons along with their relevant details is being shared with all the rescue and relief authorities such as Army, NDRF, Deputy Commissioners, District Senior Superintendents of Police, State Health Officials, Railway Officials and other concerned authorities."By hectic collective efforts of various components, 90 persons have been traced by the centre so far and the information about the same has been conveyed to their near and dear ones. Citing the functioning of centre, Nodal Officer Amit Sharma regarding the proactive role of Connect Centre in tracing of a foreign lady, a Brazilian within a couple of hours of her being reported missing yesterday. "A phone call was received in the J&K Connect Centre from one Ms Divya, a resident of Gurgoan yesterday evening pertaining to her Brazalian friend, Ms Lucy Aruzau who was last seen at Pahalgam in Kashmir. The Connect Centre made all efforts to successfully trace their foreign citizen with this information and finally succeeded in connecting Ms Lucy with her friend at Gurgaon. Divya complimented the team of J&K Connect Centre for this commendable effort. Sharma further told that all mobile operators in J&K have been directed to issue bulk sms to all their customers in state due to which the quantum of calls has increased manifold in the J&K Connect Centre and facilitating the purpose. |
