Bhalla inspects Navratra arrangements at Bawe-Wali Mata temple

JAMMU, Sept 20 : Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that Government has initiated various steps to create adequate infrastructure at all places of religious importance for the convenience of the visiting devotees.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the devotees after inspecting the Navratras arrangements made by the district administration at Bawe-Wali Mata temple at Bahu Fort, here today.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Kiran Wattal, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Shahid besides other senior officers of PHE, R&B, PDD, UEED, JMC, JDA, Floriculture and Police accompanied the Minister.
Mr. Bhalla asked the accompanied officers to provide adequate facilities to devotees during the Navratras days like safe drinking water, toilet blocks, electricity, parking, sarai, security, and free langer so that they do not face any inconvenience.
He asked the PDD for supply of uninterrupted power supply during Navratra days. He called upon the shopkeepers not to sell stale food to devotees and beautify the area by displaying goods in an attractive manner with attractive sunshades for protection.
The Minister asked the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation to depute a team of safaikarmcharies for sanitation of in and around the area of the temple.
He asked him for repairing of out of order high mast lights from Kalka Colony to Bawe-Wali Mata temple.
He asked him to personally monitor the sale of eatable items besides sanitation facilities in and around the temple. He directed for proper sanitation of passage including premises of Shri Bawe-Wali Mata well before the start of ensuing Navratras.
Later, the Minister also visited the Har-ki- Pouri temple and inspected the restoration work of damages caused due to flash floods in river Tawi.
Regarding construction of protection wall behind the area of Bahu Fort, Bhalla asked Jammu Development Authority for immediate measures to prevent the sliding of a portion of hill slope behind Bahu- Fort facing due to heavy rains. He alongwith officers visited the site and took stock of the situation.
He asked the officials to immediately start the protection work as the delay can cause damage to the historic Bahu Fort.
The Minister asked the JMC to depute a team of safaikarmcharies for removing the mud of river Tawi that has entered in the Harki Poodi temple in recent flash floods. He asked for reconstruction of washed away river Tawi banks for the safety of the temple.
